Coming into practice 2 I am keen to get more involved in group projects, publications and competitions. I feel they give me a good opportunity to begin that process with other members of my course. This was something we had been working together on for a while and I felt quite connected to the project having designed the logo.

The idea was to create a zine type item which would bring together our work under the collective theme of "Mis-Place". For me this subject played quite well to my ideas but also it allowed me to see my work from another angle which allowed me to create something which was not only great for this but also developed my work and practice. I wanted to use these collaborations and joint projects as a way to spark off new ideas too and feel this is where I really gained quite a lot from this project.

It was also helpful in giving me some experience of printing, zine making, collaborating and producing such a publication so that moving on from here I feel more confident in doing something like this exclusively for my work.

I have been in New York for the past 10 days and feel somewhat guilty that the final touches were being put in place whilst I was away, but seeing as I was there to get married I think they will understand! Anyway, I tried to put in a lot of work before hand and feel I contributed a lot to publication as a whole and do feel very proud of the outcome.

My Submission
I decided early on that I wanted to use posters on either side of my page as I wanted my ideas and imagery to speak for themselves and hopefully the included URL would encourage people who pick this up to explore the meaning further by visiting.
I wanted these pieces to represent the idea of something being overlooked or misplaced, of information and places we are missing out on, the idea that we need to look closer and further. That these places will not just be given to us, but if we want to take our city back we need to make them our own, search them out and reclaim our cities back from the consumerism and globalisation.
