Exploring The City. Observational Photography.

For me the true essence of a place is in the details, in the things that make the place unique, that give it its true character. Manchester is a city I love and am proud to call it home, I love walking to and from University, wandering around the back streets and seeing what I might find. 

I love to travel because I want to see something new, to become a stranger and to get lost. But when we allow ourselves to wander off the main roads and off the high streets even somewhere so familiar can become strange and exciting. I explore to seek adventure in my own city and cure my wanderlust when I can't jump on a plane. Urban exploration doesn't need to be difficult, dangerous or illegal, for some it can just mean turning left instead of right out of the train station and seeing a new side to the amazing narratives the city holds.
